Requirements to be an MUA
Adult Kickball or Youth/Adult Softball umpire

• MUA Certification REQUIRES completion of ALL of the following:
  • Attend one Registration Clinic
  • Meet the USA Softball uniform and equipment requirements
  • Pay annual MUA dues (see below)
    • Dues include:
      • USA Softball registration
      • MUA registration
      • Supplemental Insurance
  • Complete MPRB Registration and Background Check

New Officials with the MPRB should be at the clinic by 6:30 pm for the onboarding presentation and stay for rules updates, proper mechanics, and Q&A

Returning Officials need to be at the clinic by 7:00 pm for rules updates, proper mechanics, and Q&A

Thursday, April 10 – Registration Clinic
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Mary Merrill MPRB Headquarters

Wednesday, April 16 – Registration Clinic
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Powderhorn Recreation Center

Tuesday, April 22 – Registration Clinic & USA Softball Test Review
(*Take the test (below) BEFORE coming to the Review*)
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Registration is In-Person Only
Test Review will be Hybrid: (In-Person or Online)
Location: Mary Merrill MPRB Headquarters

Saturday, April 26 – USA Softball of Minneapolis Metro Umpire School
(*NOT A REGISTRATION CLINIC*)
Required for ALL Rookie umpires
Recommended for ALL Veteran umpires
9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Location: Matthews Recreation Center

Sunday, April 27 – Opening Day!
TCGSL League – 9:00 am (all day @ Bossen Park)
MPRB Leagues – 5:00 pm (various Parks)
Recommended for all umpires!
Put your new skills to work in a real game.

2025 MUA dues include registration for USA Softball, supplemental insurance, registration for MUA,
AND the MPRB Official Certification fee.

$35 – 1st year MUA Umpire
$70 – Returning MUA Umpire
